Puppets Invade BEA

There was a lot of action happening at the 2006 Book Expo America convention in Washington D.C. John Kennedy was on hand at the North Light Books counter to show off his new book Puppet Planet. It was a great week for authors who were there to get reactions and sales for their new titles and John's Puppet Planet was making heads turn.
Get your Puppet Planet book here! There were fans lined up to get their complimentary, signed copies of Puppet Planet and they were delighted to also receive Puppet Mania. The wonderful thing about BEA is that attendees get free stuff to take home and read. At the Puppet Planet Booth everyone got two books, a Professor Foaman paper puppet workshop, and a puppet show!
I've had to potty since 1999! The Parade Alien made an appearance to let everyone know that Puppet Planet was a peaceful planet and had no intention of causing any harm. He then asked for the closest restroom. There aren't many stops on the way to Earth.
Have you hugged a bear today? The Convert-A-Bears from Puppet Mania took over for the alien and performed a rousing rendition of "Big Ol' Bear Hug". There weren't a lot of people who needed a hug but that didn't stop them from singing up a storm and bringing down the house.
Jeff Deceder One of John's biggest fans is Jeff Deceder, a good friend and fellow puppeteer from John's early days at Walt Disney World. He lives in the D.C. area and agreed to help with the show. Not only did he assemble part of the stage and sound system, but he also joined in backstage and performed many of the numbers. Great job, Jeff!
Barg Puh Puh Plana! Everything was going smoothly until a Sumo Wrestler showed up. We think he said something nice about Puppet Planet but noone knew for sure because you couldn't understand a word he was saying.
